DBM Contractors, Inc., a leading Design/Build Specialty Geotechnical Contractor in the western United States, is seeking a Project Estimator to join our team. A Project Estimator plays a crucial role to the success of DBM Contractors. The Estimator is responsible for evaluating the bid documents, including Specifications and Drawings, to ensure an accurate and thorough estimate can be completed. Estimators are expected to coordinate with the General Contractors prior to bid time to evaluate the project schedule and sequence of work associated with our work. Estimators are also responsible to follow up with to General Contractors to ensure our bids have been received and to get bid results after bid closing.

• Salary: Commensurate with skills and experience including above industry standard benefit package with profit sharing.

• Education & Experience Required: 4 year Engineering or Construction Management Degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience. 5-10 years estimating, cost control and/or engineering experience related to similar facility construction. Advanced knowledge of construction operations, estimating techniques and cost control, plus ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems is essential. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Project.

• Other Typical Duties:

Besides the primary responsibilities listed above, some of the other duties a Project Estimator performs include:

1. Attends pre-bid meetings and conducts site visits prior to bid opening
2. Performs complete takeoff of scope of work necessary for vendors and subcontractors
3. Coordinates total estimating effort relevant to particular bid/project as assigned
4. Maintains files of working documents as back-up for estimates figures
5. Interfaces with owner, A/E, and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility
6. Follows awarded contracts as assigned - may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring material, etc.
7. Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction
8. Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
9. Reviews and incorporates historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures
